This programme is an online coaching programme where we meet once a week (via Skype/Facetime/WhatsApp video call) so that I can coach you through the following 3 stages of REVIVE and help you recover from stress and rebuild your health. The programme is delivered over 3 stages to help promote long term behaviour change. It is also a bespoke programme designed especially for you in accordance with what’s going on in your health right now and how much time you have available for you. The last thing we want to do is add more to your ‘to-do-list’ and make you more stressed. The three stages are outlined below.

Stage 1: Reflect

Think of this as a ‘needs analysis’ stage. During this stage we will spend time identifying what exactly is going on in your health and help you understand where changes are needed.

Stage 2: Rebuild

During this stage we will start to implement small significant changes to your lifestyle targeting the stress, overwhelm, fatigue and ill health that you’re experiencing. The exact detail of this depends your needs/symptoms but here is a menu of the kind of things you can expect.

  • Nutritional changes targeting stress related symptoms (e.g. weight gain, digestive symptoms)

  • Sleep training/management to address energy levels and reset hormones such as cortisol

  • Exercise/Physical activity plans to enhance mood, fitness and all-round health

  • Self-care and mood management strategies

Stage 3: Refine

Once we have laid solid foundations and established basic health habits, we will focus on one or two areas that will enhance your health even further. The aim of this stage is to fine tune your lifestyle so you can perform optimally in life (be that in work, as a parent, partner or amateur sports person).

Hi, I’m Bernie the creator of the Revive Programme for Health

The reason I have created this programme is because I want to help people apply lifestyle interventions that are evidence based to combat stress and prevent illness such as; cardiovascular disease, cancer, depression, anxiety, irritable bowel disease, chronic pain, chronic fatigue and persistent illness brought about by their immune system being suppressed from stress.

I really believe Stress should NOT be worn as a badge of honour, but this is so common place in today’s society that stress has become normalised and as a result a lot of people are finding themselves physically or mentally unwell. In fact you can read my blog about how even I fell into this trap and learnt that being fit doesn’t necessarily mean being healthy.

In creating my coaching service I have called upon my experience (personal and professional), my qualifications and my professional certification in Health and Exercise, Personal Training, and Lifestyle Medicine to create a coaching experience that is unlike anything you will have experienced before.

1. What is health coaching? How is it different from Personal Training?

Health coaching provides holistic behaviour change support, not just exercise or nutrition. By working with me you will learn how your day to day lifestyle is impacting (and possibly sabotaging) your efforts to get healthy. I will help you to make small but significant changes that are often difficult to make on our own, but are so important for your overall health. Health coaching is right for you, if you find yourself trying new health kicks but falling off the bandwagon quite a lot. It also works well for people working with Personal Trainers who find themselves not seeing the changes they want because they're not implementing changes outside of the gym such as stress management, sleep, nutrition, hormone control, mental well-being. Health coaching is right for you if you want to make changes that fit into an already hectic or busy lifestyle. 


2. What happens during the free consultation?

The purpose of the initial consultation is to get to know each other, for you to decide whether you think health coaching is for you, and for me to make sure you are someone I believe I can help. At the end of the call you will be provided a link to book your place on a programme. 


3. Can you help me with specific illnesses?

I am not a medical doctor so cannot diagnose medical conditions or advise you to make any change to your existing treatment or medication without consultation with your physician. However, I am qualified to offer lifestyle support and management of symptoms for a range of illnesses. These include: Asthma, Arthritis (Osteo and Rheumatoid), Type 2 Diabetes, Osteoporosis (Osteopenia), Depression, Anxiety, Fatigue, Stress, Burnout, Weight management 


4. Should I cancel my gym membership or personal training sessions, if I sign up to a programme? 

Definitely not. Health Coaching works exceptionally well alongside this and more often than not, you will feel more motivated and energised to get the most from your current practice by working with me. Having said this, sometimes there are situations when I feel the type of exercise people are doing is detrimental to their health and making symptoms worse. In which case, I would be happy to advise how you can make changes and get the most from your gym routine. 


5. Does a programme include a detailed diet? 

No. Detailed diets are restrictive in my view. Therefore, as a Health Coach I will evaluate your current nutritional intake using a food diary and provide you with advice with regards to whether or not you are eating the right types of food to meet your health needs. I will help you to become more organised for meal times, understand how to create nutritious meal plans and ensure you are eating the right types of foods for your health. 

6. Can I get a refund if I decide to cancel?

I offer a 30-day cancellation/money back guarantee. I want all of the people that I coach to be happy during our 3 months together. So, if at any point within the first 30 days you decide that you don’t wish to continue, I will refund all monies paid in advance and cancel our contract for the final 2 months.

If you decide to cancel after this point, you will still be required to pay the balance of the programme fees or in cases where you have paid up front, a refund won’t be available.
